Ok. Spring Break 2000. So where am I (Erin) going? Nowhere. Where is my older brother, Toad (not his real name), going? Nowhere. Or so he led me to believe. In actuality he, along with three female friends, drove to New York City. What? I was in disbelief. The Big Apple is one of my favorite cities. How could he, my own flesh and blood, do this to me? He knew I didn't have plans. Why wasn't I invited? To add to my devastation, this was the week *NSYNC was to appear on Good Morning America, Saturday Night Live, and TRL. I tried my hardest to put this injustice out of my head. However, who had to call Wednesday evening (the 3rd day of my manic depressive state)? Toad! Why did he call? To inform me that he had attended a taping of the Rosie O'Donnell Show (another favorite of mine). And that's not all...it gets even better. After the show wrapped up, who comes out from behind the curtain and starts chatting with Rosie? MY FAVORITE MEMBER OF *NSYNC: LANCE BASS! He had been in the building, with the other members, practicing for their appearance on SNL. When Toad and his friends realized who it was, they took a few pictures and were then hustled out by security. My question is this. How unfair can things get? First NYC, then Rosie, then Lance...my Lance! I just don't get it. Lindsay and I spend hours travelling to see them perform and days developing elaborate "strategic placement" plans. Yet, we can't meet them. How can someone like Toad just happen to run into one of them? Someone needs to explain this to me, because I just don't understand.
